Initially, it was part of a challenge in which the topic was things that scare us. I'm about to be a dad and the only thing that scares me.. truly scares me, is not being able to protect my child at all times.
In the image, I wanted to depict a scenario where a son is pleading for help with his last dying breath as his father carelessly reads his book.. unaware of the misery and heartache and ultimate disillusionment his child is feeling for his father just as he dies.
I'm somewhat of a grim soul sometimes, lol.
But the way you see the image is very different from what I meant to convey, but at the same time its very validating to me, because you chose to see the image and interpret it rather than look at some kid getting his spine ripped out..
hard to explain, but rest assured, I appreciate the feedback very much! That really makes me motivated to finish my next one!
Artist to artist, I like the image and even with the info you've given me on it, I can still see my original thought in it only now with a +1 to hit.
Now, I can see it as your imagination and fear manifesting in the back of your mind. You've now become the man reading the book.
